Football Players

In the age of free information, an internet search for “football” predominantly shows images of male players. “Men” and “football” are often seen as inseparable. When women play football, it becomes obligatory to specify “women football players,” a distinction rarely made for men. Do we ever hear or say “male football player”? This sounds ridiculous! We are used to this stereotype, and it’s not just in football; it’s everywhere. This linguistic bias is troubling to me; it seems like a strange conjecture, yet it is the reality of the whole world. Thus, I consciously distorted the word “woman.”Football is a game that can be played by anyone, regardless of gender.

We don’t need to delve deeply to uncover the football history of Bangladeshi girls; they have already forged their own paths and achieved international recognition despite the male-dominated gaze. Standing on this opposite shore of society is not easy; their existence challenges societal norms and resembles characters from fairy tales. These players have blazed a new trail and created a new narrative. This work is about these oracles, capturing fragments of their daily lives, their inspiration, and their joy.

Bangladeshi girls have not been in the world of football for long, but they have overcome countless obstacles in a male-dominated society. They have carved out their path, are actively playing, and have gained international acclaim.
